Try BioHeal and say goodbye to Eczema. BioHeal, Dr. Loren Pickart's skin repair invention, helps to diminish the itching, flaking and cracking caused by this oh so unpleasant inflammation of the skin. BioHeal works better than cortisone for eczema and skin rash. It also may help to heal and remove scars from skin cracks.
BioHeal has demonstrated strong skin repair properties in five independent studies by world renown dermatologists at leading universities (studies are detailed below). Four of these recent papers have been published in peer-reviewed, international dermatology journals.
Eczema, characterized by inflamed skin, can have many causes. However, in general, (1) the skin's repair is too slow, (2) the skin is exposed to many irritants, and (3) the skin has an overly high pH; that is, it is not acid enough. These conditions loosen the skin's outer protective proteins and let irritants pass through. For best results, apply a light coating of BioHeal to treat Eczema.
The dry, cracking skin associated with Eczema is especially severe in Sjogren's Syndrome. This auto-immune disorder is characterized by excessive water loss due to a breakdown in the protective outer barrier of the skin. Also, the skin's production of the water-holding proteoglycans and glycosaminoglycans (GAGs) may be deficient. BioHeal helps to repair the skin barrier and increase the production of proteoglycans and glycosaminoglycans. Oil/water moisturizers can provide temporary relief, but they do not address the fundamental problems. In fact, they can actually worsen skin over time by weakening the skin's outer protective proteins. Biological healing oils such as Emu Oil or Squalane are the best skin moisturizers for dried out skin.
Inflamed skin requires gentle cleansing. Not all mild soaps are tender to the skin. Most so called "mild" soaps possess a high alkalinity of pH 9.5-11. These acidic cleansers deplete the natural acid that protects skin while also extracting protective lipids (fats). In addition, such soaps often contain high levels of synthetic detergents which both strip away the mantle and loosen the protective keratin proteins. Since irritated and eczematous skin tends to have a more alkaline pH, alkaline soaps only exasperate this acidic state making the skin more vulnerable to irritation and infection. Many clients with eczema have found our ultra-mid skin cleanser Gentle Clean, to improve their skin health. Gentle Clean has a nearly neutral pH (7.8) possessing no flash foamers, detergents or harsh alkaline chemicals. It can be found at:www.skinbio.com/gentleclean.html.
Eczema is often associated with dry skin which is also called xerosis, or xerotic eczema (xeros is Greek for "dry"). Xerosis may occur in normal healthy skin or be caused by specific conditions in which the skin fails to secrete adequate oils such as Sjogren's syndrome. Generally, as we get older there is a tendency for a drier, less oily skin. When skin become too dry, the outer skin layers become stiff and may develop cracks. The cracks grow into fissures which irritate, itch and inflame the skin.
Dry We tend to experience dry skin more frequently during the fall and winter when the humidity is low and we bathe more often. Xerosis is commonly called "Winter Itch" since it worsens in the winter as observed by many dermatologists. The condition is most unpleasant in areas of the body with relatively few oil glands such as the arms, legs, and trunk area. Fifty years ago, most people took one or two baths per week which gave the skin a chance to replace its natural skin oils between cleansings.
The best cure of dry skin is keeping your skin healthy. Many our
customers say that the need for moisturizers is greatly reduced after using
either BioHeal or CP Serum. The products help rebuild the protective skin
barrier which reduces water loss through the epidermis. As a result, our skin is enabled to produce its own water-holding glycosoaminoglycans
and proteoglycans.

BioHeal Testimonials - Eczema and Dry Skin
My eczema is totally gone now. I can't believe it. Anyway, I got rid of it by using Exfol Cream on my hands all night long and then Super Cop 2X the next night. It was gone in a week. I've had eczema for years so I'm really excited about it. No doctor's prescription and no hydrocortisone!

After two months of regular use of the Skin Bio shampoo, Bioheal and/or CP serum on my scalp ( I used the sample size of Folligen Lotion and the sample size of Emu Oil but Bioheal and CP Serum regularly ) my scalp had no reddish inflamed areas nor any broken skin. I was able to go to the hairdresser for a professional cut for the first time in four years. It was very gratifying for me so I wanted to encourage others.
My scalp is not cured because I still have areas where my hair growth is not normal - only about half an inch long - but my hair is thick enough to cover it.

I tried BioHeal with good results on 3 patients in my acne clinic who had trouble with eczema. All patients reported a reduction in itching and a slow reduction in skin redness at the eczema sites.

Dear Moisture Seekers:
I have always enjoyed your Mailbag section, and have been grateful to pick up patient tips to make living with Sjogren's a little easier. I would appreciate your consideration of the following for your newsletter:
I have Sjogren's Syndrome and Lupus causing severe problems with very dry skin. I am prone to "cracks" in my fingers due to Raynaud's, and "burns" in other areas of my skin, including my face. I have used many expensive products trying to help the situation, with minimal results.
The "burns" would only respond to steroid ointments, which caused scarring. I recently discovered a product that has greatly helped the dryness and accompanying skin problems. The product is called Protect & Restore and is available from a company called Skin Biology (1 800 405-1912; http://www.skinbio.com. I have never written about a product before, but the improvement has been so significant I want to share with other patients who may have the same problem. I have been using Protect & Restore and BioHeal (same company) for about one month. Since using these creams my skin is greatly improved with better texture and is significantly less dry. I was afraid to try anything on the burned areas of my face, but went ahead when I saw the improvement in other areas. The burns healed within days. More impressive, the unsightly scars from the steroids have been replaced with healthy skin. I have not had further problems of that type. In the past two weeks, I have received numerous compliments on my skin - and not just from people who know me. For a forty-eight year old woman with illnesses that negatively impact the skin, this is worth writing about.
Also, the cracks and sores on my fingers (from Raynaud's) heal very quickly with BioHeal.

My skin is getting much better with your cream. I am taking methatrexate and imuran which is causing my skin problems. I was ready to try anything for the eczema caused by the drugs.

Dear sirs,
Whatever Protect & Restore® is or is not--it works!
Every winter, for at least fifteen years, I have had a deep, painful crack in the skin of my right thumb. The only suggestion any doctors have given me is "keep it out of water". It cracks and peels, on and on, from approximately early December and finally closing in late March. Furthermore, it is very painful.
This year you gave me some Protect & Restore® to try. The skin on my thumb began the familiar pattern in December, but never reached the very painful stage and all evidence of the problem was gone by late January--and has not recurred! I also have used the cream for paper cuts and sore cuticles (I work with paper all day) and BioHeal®, I think, has been of great benefit to me.
I certainly thank you for the opportunity to use this product. It has saved me from a most uncomfortable few months as well as making it possible for me to work on the computer and typewriter without a Band-Aid on my thumb.
Again, many thanks!
Sincerely,
E.

It Worked for Me
Name: Joy Dawson, Wichita.
Personal: 75, single, middle school substitute teacher.
Problem: Eczema, a painful skin inflammation, on her index fingers and thumbs.
What she did: tried a copper-peptide lotion (CP Serum) meant to be a skin care product, after reading a newspaper story about non-surgical ways to reduce wrinkles.
She had unsuccessfully tried lotions and salves from her dermatologist and was wearing gloves on her hands at night at the suggestion of her son who's a doctor.
How She did it. Dawson's hands were so affected that "there would be cracks and splits, and they'd be bleeding."
The story about copper peptide creams mentioned that copper peptide creams were originally developed for burn victims and diabetics whose wounds wouldn't heal. Dawson has type 2 diabetes, which often can be controlled with diet and medication rather than insulin.
Small studies had shown that skin treated with copper peptides had less pigmentation, reduced wrinkling, and held more moisture.
Dawson had tried alternative medicine in the past and wasn't finding relief from other sources, so she didn't have to think long about trying the copper peptide lotion, which she ordered from the Internet.
Dermatologists' offices sell copper peptide products; they're also available over the Internet through companies including Neova and Skin Biology.
She
hasn't tried the lotion on her face: She jokes that she's to old for it
to do much good.
Thanks so much!!! I received the Bioheal a few days ago. Seems to be making a nice difference (eczema). THANKS for getting it right to me.

Dear sirs:
Your cream (Protect & Restore) certainly solved my daughters skin problems. She works as a waitress and her hands get so sore and cracked that sometimes she has to quit working. Nothing else has ever worked for her.
Enclosed is a check for another tube of your healing cream.

Dear sir:
I am writing to thank you for the sample of skin cream (BioHeal) and to express my satisfaction in the results it produced.
My situation was that I had a stubborn, painful rash on my chest and upper arm. During a recent visit to the doctor it was diagnosed as "shingles". I started to apply the cream over the rash once a day immediately following the diagnosis. After two days of application, I noticed a significant reduction in both the pain and the size of the rash. After a week of continued application, the rash was completely cleared up. I was amazed at the immediate results that your product produced in clearing up a rash that had been with me for the past year.
Sincerely,
W.B.F.

Dear sirs:
Thanks for letting me try your BioHeal skin cream on my hand. As you know, the area of eczema on my right hand was about 2" long and 1.5" wide, very inflamed, sore, and continuing to spread.
The problem started in October 1992 and I had given up hoping for a recovery--all the ointments that I had been using allowed, at best, a temporary relief of the itching and burning. These ointments included a 1% and a 0.5% cortisone cream, a steroid cream prescribed by a doctor, and a coal tar from a health shop. Each time the hand started to look or feel a little better, the eczema would flare up again and I would be back to square one.
Conditions that aggregated the eczema included chlorine in our swimming pool , bleach, perfumed hand creams, although I do not know how or why it started in the first place.
Within the first few days of using your cream, I noticed the inflammation was reduced and the eczema had stopped spreading. About 2 weeks later the cracks were healing well and the area was no longer tender. Now, three weeks later, there are just a few little scars that are fast disappearing.
I wish you the best success with the cream - I really thought my problem was here to stay - so thanks again.
